Sam Chirwa

Sam has recently been appointed as Chaplain for Suffolk with the Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust (NSFT), moving on from his role as Equality and Diversity Lead and Trainer.  In that former role he was also a volunteer Chaplain. Sam was born in Malawi, has worked as Director of an orphanage in Zimbabwe and has worked as a missionary in several countries in Africa. He has wanted to be ordained since he was a boy.  Sam is passionate about promoting equality; although ordained, he does not always refer to himself as Reverend because he thinks it can be a barrier and he is committed to working with people of all faiths and none.  Sam is seeking to recruit and train a team of part-time volunteers from around Suffolk to work with him to provide a comprehensive chaplaincy service for users and staff.  Please make contact if you would like to know more.  At the moment he is working alone.
